|And beginning with Moses and the Prophets He expounded unto
them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself. (Luke 24:27)
What we believe
We believe in one God, as He has revealed Himself in the Scriptures.
"Hear O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one." (Deuteronomy 6:4)
We believe that the intended meaning of this word "one" is found in the original Hebrew text, which used the word "echad"
and it means "a composite unity".
We believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Son of God, the Messiah (the Christ), the Eternal One in Whom all the fullness of deity
dwells in bodily form, and who is the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us, and whose glory we beheld, the glory of
the uniquely begotten Son of God, full of grace and truth. (John 1)
We believe that the Spirit of God comforts, teaches, leads, indwells and empowers all whom He regenerates. (John 14:26, John
15:13, John 20:22)
We believe that the Bible in its entirety, both the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the Brit Chadashah (New Testament), is the only
inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17, Deuteronomy 12:32)
We believe that all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
We believe that Yeshua's death and resurrection accomplished the atonement for all who would place their faith in Him.
Whoever trusts in God, in His work alone, is made a new creation in Messiah, indwelt by the Spirit of God, and is transferred
from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His own Son. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5 & 6)
We believe in the continuity of God's covenants with the physical people of Israel according to Jeremiah 31:35-36 and parallel
passages. Part of the fulfillment of these covenants is the physical return of the people of Israel to their Promised Land.
We believe salvation is by faith through the grace of God alone, and not by human efforts. One may not earn, merit or keep this
eternal salvation by his own efforts. A new creation is the work of God alone. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 8:29-39)
We believe in the spiritual unity and equality of all believers in Messiah Yeshua. (Ephesians 2:11-22)
We believe that everyone who trusts in Yeshua is grafted into the "olive tree", and while this does not make them Jewish, they
are granted the privilege of having God's laws written upon their hearts, as participants of the New or Renewed Covenant.
(Romans 11:11-24; Jeremiah 31:33)
We believe that the entire Bible is a revelation of the righteousness of God and the description of the lifestyle of the redeemed
community and that we are saved to do good works as described by the Torah of Moses. (Matthew 5:17-19; II Timothy 3:16-17,
We believe in the literal, physical return of Messiah to rule and reign upon the throne of David in Jerusalem. (Isaiah 11)
Who we are
We have been Christians, believers in Yeshua as our personal Lord and Savior, since early adulthood. We raised
our children in a local Southern Baptist congregation where we were active leaders in the church. Dan served
as trustee and deacon as well as part of the worship team for a number of years. Brenda served as nursery
coordinator, Sunday School teacher, vacation Bible school teacher, women’s ministry team member, Finance
committee member, and treasurer. Our lives revolved around our involvement in our church and our family.
In 2007, our youngest child was graduating from high school and our lives as a family and as a couple were
changing. God used this transition time to call us to a deeper understanding of His word and purpose. For many years, we had been fascinated with
the biblical feasts described in Leviticus 23 and had discovered incredible meaning in them related to Yeshua’s first and second comings. God inspired
our desire to know more! We found the in-depth teaching we were seeking at El Shaddai Ministries where we learned the significance of the whole
Bible. This included restoration of our Sabbath worship to the actual Sabbath and observance of the biblical feast days. As we dug deeper into God’s
word, we’ve learned so much about His covenant system, the offerings, the way of life that He wants His children to follow.
In 2008, just six months after starting our intense learning at El Shaddai, God called us to a focused ministry. We began a small group in our home that
met on Friday evenings, the eve of the Sabbath where we began to teach what we were learning. God continued our training as we wrote four volumes
of Shadows of the Messiah in the Torah where we share many of the places and ways that God points to Yeshua the Messiah in the Scriptures. These
lessons were all developed through our Shabbat small group teachings. At El Shaddai, we taught several lessons in the Cornerstone series and the
Prophecy of the Prophets series. Brenda was one of a team of teachers for the Women’s Ministry. We helped to implement a foundations class teaching
the essentials of faith in Messiah and how He is revealed in the covenants, sacrifices, feasts, and prophecies found in the Scriptures. Our hearts were
drawn toward this discipleship of individuals and small groups.
Early in 2017, God indicated that we were ready to launch! He called us to form Moed Ministries International where we bring our hearts for small
groups and discipleship into the broader community as we seek to connect small groups no matter where they may physically be located and offer in-
depth teachings to help individuals draw closer to God through knowledge of His Word. We are excited about this new journey and can’t wait to see
how God uses us to help disciple and connect believers throughout the world!
